ABOUT US
Glasgow University Zine Society is a small, super friendly, creative, and cooperative society for people who are interested in art, poetry, small press publishing, creative writing, spoken word and/or live music.
We run events throughout the year, as well as make our very own zine, PITH. Orange themed and published in bi-monthly “segments”, each issue of PITH is full of illustrations, collages, photography and poetry submitted by the talented students at Glasgow University. The Zine Society runs on a non-hierarchical agenda, meaning everyone who submits to the zine will be published.
Rosa Hawkey Gilder
Co-President
she/her
Hi, I'm Rosa and I'm one of PITH's co-presidents. In true English student style, I love listening to books at 1.5 speed and falling asleep to boring articles. I spend most of my free time out of breath hiking up 'hills' or in cafes downing cappuccinos. I am currently Feature's editor for Qmunicate and love contributing to all the university magazines (when I don't procrastinate).
My favourite orange: any orange flavoured sweet

I'm also Arts & Culture Editor for Qmunicate, and Social Media Officer for @GUPoliticsSociety.
When not working on Pith, I'm usually drinking copious amounts of coffee, cooking, or dog sitting a lovely Golden Retriever.
My favourite orange: blood orange

Hey, I’m Lucy, I’m in my second year at Glasgow uni studying History of Art and Comparative Literature. I’m part of the marketing team at Pith.
In my free time I procrastinate doing my uni work and spend most of my time painting, reading and attempting badly to crotchet a scarf. I love charity shopping, pints, yoga and a swim in the sea!

Bethany Lim
Graphic Designer
she/her
Hello, I’m Bethany! I’m a fifth-year architecture student at GSA. I enjoy all things creative and frantically planning supper-club-menus with friends. I spent a big chunk of last year editing the MacMag (our annual student publication) and arrived at the conclusion that I’m a big font geek. If I’m not in the studio working away at the drawing board, I’m picking up a new hobby and emptying my time and wallet into that craft :)
Katia Folman
Photographer
she/her
Hello:) I’m Katia, a 3rd Geography student from Cyprus. I spend most of my day waiting for the sun to come out near a window in the Library. Other than that, I am currently rewatching The Office for the 3rd time, practicing yoga, meditating to Tara Brach’s podcasts, trying to cook my grandmas recipes, drinking ginger tea and reading at aesthetically pleasing cafes. Oh I also like hiking and generally being in nature.
Check out my photography website!

Hi I’m Abby! I’m a third year History and Comparative Literature student. I’m so excited to be the head of marketing for PITH this year! When I’m not being a student you’ll find me adding to my endless racks of thrifted clothes, collaging while rewatching How I Met Your Mother for the hundredth time, or obsessively listening to a new true crime podcast!

Hi! I’m Miranda , I’m in 2nd year studying Economics and German. I’m so excited to be a part of PITH‘s Graphics team this year. Despite my degree, I’m always creating …pretty embarrassing, but you can name any art form and I’ve probably tried it. These days decorating my flat, bars and my bed are my most recent hobbies.
